Individual Counseling
It is conducted one on one basis. By this, The therapist guides patients towards increased self awareness, empowering them to resolve personal issues. It could be stress-related disorder, alcohol & drug dependence, relationships or marital disharmony.
The aim of the therapy is to facilitate conscious recognition of repressed thoughts and emotion enabling patients to resolve underlying conflicts and achieve emotional healing.
Types of Individual Therapy
1. Psychoanalysis: Focuses on unconscious forces, repressed impulses, memories, internal conflicts, and childhood trauma to understand mental life and adjustment.
2. Hypnosis: Induces a trance-like state, making the client highly suggestible, to access subconscious thoughts and feelings.
3. Abreaction: A process that brings repressed material, such as painful experiences or conflicts, back to consciousness, allowing the person to relive and release associated emotions.
4. Reality Therapy: Focuses on present behavior and developing coping skills to manage stress, without dwelling on past issues.
5. Uncovering or Insight Psychotherapy: Aims to uncover repressed conflicts and traumatic experiences, helping patients gain insight into their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.
6. Supportive Psychotherapy: Provides emotional support and relief from distressing symptoms, without exploring past issues or attempting to change the individual’s personality.
