Your Happiness Is Our Priority

We at The State and Mind want to ensure that individuals feel validated in their experience and find hope in the process.

Our journey together often begins by establishing boundaries and creating a safe and nurturing environment that is conducive to the development of inter-personal skills, sharing of emotions and experiences.

Commitment

For our sessions to be effective, individuals must be committed to the process.

Commitment means that members willingly attend offline or online sessions, while being honest. They should be open to trying new things and practicing new skills taught during the counselling sessions.

The courageous decision to attend counselling can be scary and overwhelming. However, committing to this process can help you and your family, no matter how tough the situation.

The Process

We consider it an honour to have a client allow us to help them through a difficult time in life. Our approach is collaborative and consists of respecting each other’s unique history, personality, cultural characteristics & strengths.

For us, the most important aspect is the relationship between the client & advisor. We try our best to make sure that the advisor is respectful and compassionate towards the client. These qualities create a safe and nurturing environment where the client may have the opportunity to develop increased self-awareness and a deeper connection with all aspects of his or her life.

Nivedita Nageshwar

The Mind Behind The State & Mind

“From studying law to delving into the fascinating world of psychology, my journey has been a captivating exploration of the human mind and its intersection with the legal system. I pursued a BA LLB degree. I realized the importance of understanding the intricacies of human behavior in the pursuit of justice after acquiring a solid foundation in law.

Driven by curiosity, I embarked on a new academic path, immersing myself in the study of psychology and later finishing a Masters in Psychology. This captivating discipline provided me with invaluable insights into the complexities of human cognition, emotions, and motivations. I discovered how psychological principles can shed light on the decision-making processes of individuals involved in legal cases.

By combining my knowledge of law and psychology, I gained a unique perspective that allowed me to approach legal issues with a deeper understanding of the human element. Whether it’s assessing the mental state of individuals, analyzing witness testimonies, or providing expert guidance, my interdisciplinary background empowers me to navigate the intricate nuances of the legal system with empathy and insight. “The COVID-19 pandemic, which struck in 2020, highlighted the urgent need for mental health support. The State and Mind, founded in 2019, found itself aligned with the evolving needs of the community. We stepped up to provide therapy during the pandemic, offering solace and a safe space for healing.”

Our belief at The State and Mind is to find solutions that prioritize healing and growth, even when a couple is seeking marriage counseling and contemplating divorce. We assign lawyers to guide them through the legal process, but our main focus is to resolve their underlying problems, fostering understanding and communication.”

I am honored to be at the forefront of this movement, advocating the cause of mental health and breaking down barriers between disciplines. Together with our dedicated team, we strive to make a lasting impact on the lives of countless individuals across India and abroad. I’m incredibly proud of the work we are doing at The State and Mind, but what truly drives me is the impact we are making on people’s lives. Witnessing the positive transformations and knowing that we’re breaking down barriers between law and psychology is incredibly fulfilling.

Remember, you have the power to shape your destiny and I am here to support you every step of the way. Let’s embark on this journey together!

We, as people, tend to avoid situations in life out of fear, convenience or because we are too afraid to step out of our comfort zone. But maybe, stepping out of that zone is what’s best for us, for our family & for our future.

Talking to a mental health counsellor/legal aid professional about your troubles will help find a path that meets your needs and protects your future.

Let’s work together the right way!

A bright path ahead
